Mohamed Selim Kamel has been working as an editor for over filve years, and as a digital compositor for four.
His last years of university were spent as being the editor for numerous advertising assignments. The more he did, the more the possibilities of what he could do with just a mouse and a keyboard opened up in front of him. He felt he had a natural talent in knowing what he wanted to portray; he just lacked the tools that could allow him to do so. Hence, his love for post-production began.
Having been a self-taught editor, he started working in a big post-production house in Cairo – the hub for Middle Eastern media.
During his work as an editor, he found himself secretly critiquing the work that was given to him by the visual effects team. Seeing numerous things that he would change to make the imagery more realistic, he realized that he had a keen eye for detail; which was when he began to study compositing.
